The meeting was called to order at approximately 1900
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 2200.
Our June speaker will be Paula Jones of the Logan Airport Tower, talking
about Doppler weather radar.
Elections for all club officers for the 1999-2000 term will be at the June
meeting. The nominations committee has received no new nominations since the
last business meeting.
N1YER said that Field Day 1999 preparations are going well. We need to get
FD equipment out of KA1TUZ's garage and start testing it! We have a source
for the "portapotties."
There is a new ARRL EMA section manager, Joel Magid, WU1F.
The Aviation Exposition at Logan on May 19 went well - we have the names of
38 teachers interested in Amateur Radio. Their names will be forwarded to
The Nominations Committee reported no new nominations for any club officers.
N1NHZ asked if we wanted to do something for ARRL Kids' Day. Some thought it
a good idea to have a "kid oriented" person at FD to introduce youth to
N1ICN renewed our ARRL insurance. He reports the club balance last week at
N1IST is getting a laptop ready for the use of the Treasurer in keeping our
financial records. The Executive Committee voted to authorize N1IST to spend
up to $200 for this purpose.
The Boston Amateur Radio Club holds its monthly Business meeting on the
first Thursday of each month. The next one will be on Thursday July 1, 1999
in the food court of the Cambridgeside Galleria Mall in Cambridge. We meet
at 6:30pm in the lower level, down by the windows facing the lagoon.
This is where the real business of BARC is conducted. If you have any
suggestions, questions, or comments, this is where to bring them. All
members are welcome (and encouraged) to join us at this meeting.
