Committee reports:

Exams  Mike, N1IST, reports that the next exam session will be on Monday June 13.  Due to renovations at the school it may be unavailable for use this in July and August, or a different room might be used.  More information when it is available.

Membership  Arthur, N1NHZ, says that he has no new prospects.  Two more renewals have been received.  It was noted that about a dozen renewals were received as a result of the special notices that were sent to members who had not renewed by March.

Public Service  Bob, WA1IDA,  reported that all spring events have been successfully completed.  The next scheduled event will be the Boston Triathlon on September 4 in Boston and more later in the fall.

The newsletter folding will be on Wednesday June 8 at the CambridgeSide Galleria Food Court - lower level, starting about 6:30 pm.

Programs  Blake, K1BTH, reports that the speaker for the June General meeting will be David Maxson of Broadcast Technologies, speaking about RF exposure and the ham operator.

Operation Atlas, a DHS and MassPort drill, will be held on Saturday June 4 at Logan airport.  Members of BERT will be participating with ham radio support at locations in Boston and with other ARES operators in support of the Red Cross.

The RACES/ARES/SKYWARN Statewide Hurricane Drill will be held on the air in place of the regular RACES net on Monday, June 6, from 1900 to 2100 hours.

Repeaters  Both repeaters are working well.  Mike, N1IST, is still trying to get needed plugs and cables for a Motorola Syntor radio to make the Internet link on the 447.175 repeater.

Treasurer  Jim, N1ICN, reports that the checking account balance is $3659.90.

Announcements:  The ARRL Field Day 2005 pins are now available from Eric, K1NUN, for $5.00.

The joint BARC/Framingham ARA trip to the Wireless and Steam Museum in Rhode Island will be on Saturday June 4.

The next Flea at MIT will be on Sunday June 19.  Mike, N1IST, will not be there and he would like to know if anyone else would be available to staff the BARC table.

Old Business:

Web Survey  no new submissions have been received.  Mike will prepare a summery of responses to be published in The SPARC.

Nominating committee  The following slate has been presented:

Blake Haskell, K1BTH - President; Dan Malloy, KA1RDZ - Vice President; Paul Olivieri, N1ZKR - Secretary; and Jim Clogher, N1ICN - Treasurer.

By-Law Review  Blake presented a report for the committee of the various changes proposed to the by-laws.  Considerable discussion followed and minor alterations were made to some of the proposed changes to the by-laws.

Moved by Paul, N1ZKR, seconded by Blake, K1BTH: the final vote on the by-law changes should be postponed until another time, likely the September 2005 General meeting, to allow notification of members of the finalized changes and the intent to vote on the changes at that meeting.  The motion passed.

New business:

Moved by Paul, N1ZKR, seconded by Jim, N1ICN: give an advance for $200 to Rick, N1HID, to buy food for Field Day.  The motion passed.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 2042.

This is where the real business of BARC is conducted.  If you have any suggestions, questions or comments, this is where to bring them.  All members are welcome (and encouraged) to join us at this meeting.
